This is now my second time doing an internship at the Embassy. I consciously chose this place because I strongly felt there was so much more to learn here. Over the course of my time here, I've noticed that I'm being assigned more and more responsibilities, which is a big challenge for me. I'm increasingly involved in larger, more challenging tasks that require more of my skills. I get to participate much more and take a more active role in the team, which is incredibly fun.

The first month of my internship mainly consisted of various tasks. I got acquainted with many new things, such as creating mailings and using a new tool, Figma. I notice that planning and keeping appointments sometimes still goes wrong. This is a point where I need to be stricter with myself. Nevertheless, I enjoy my time here immensely. I feel at home at the Embassy. Below are some specific learning points from this month.
During my internship, we are planning to switch from Adobe XD to Figma. It is up to me to get to know this new software and become skilled in using it. Initially, it is certainly an adjustment, especially since I am used to working with Adobe XD. However, Figma seems to be becoming the new standard in the industry. To help me master Figma, I have been assigned the task of creating a general inspiration document using this software. The purpose of this is to create a more streamlined and structured inspiration phase. With every task I perform and every challenge I encounter, I get to know the software better and start to appreciate its many benefits.
Today, Remco explained to me how to create mailings. This is something that is often requested by clients and therefore useful to learn. I need to create a visual that immediately captures attention and then organize everything well. This means that everything is arranged in a logical way to ensure that they remain interested and read the entire mailing and ultimately bring in the client. I look forward to seeing how this can then improve communication with customers.
A very educational activity is a so-called design check. I had never heard of it before, but it gives you a critical design eye, which is incredibly useful for the future. I had the opportunity to check the website of B&B Fabrics and came across a number of things. It was mainly about small issues such as errors in alignment, incorrect margins, and some errors in the responsive versions of the site. When I first saw how Remco performed this task, I was amazed at the details he noticed and corrected—details that I might have overlooked myself.
