On my first day in the office, I was given the assignment to gather inspiration for social media posts for Netpro. These posts are about holidays such as Carnival Monday, Dia di Himno i Bandera, Easter and King's Day. First, I researched what each holiday entails and what kind of image fits it. Then I went looking for images that match the atmosphere and message of these days. I did this by searching Google, Pinterest and Shutterstock for photos that creatively and appropriately portray these holidays. I put together various mood boards of the best and most inspiring images to determine what is most beautiful. I also made a few sketches to further elaborate ideas. In this way, I have laid a strong foundation for creating these posts.

I worked on the inspiration phase for SAN (Stichting Adverteerdersjury Nederland). Moodboards had to be created to inspire visual concepts for the show. There are large screens for which Camiel has to create something. The theme is 'Imagination', which is of course a very open theme. I researched different themes that appealed to me in this subject, such as clouds, space, flowers, shadows and also quotes that have to do with imagination. For these themes I collected inspiration photos on Pinterest and placed them in different moodboards. After the moodboards were finished, I presented them to Camiel. Presenting is one of my learning goals, because I often find it difficult. That is why I hope to grow in this by presenting more often during my internship.

I think it would be fun to learn how to animate. That's why I watched today how Camiel made an animation for the company VOS Vakwerk. He showed how an earlier animation was constructed and how he started making a new one. This one was made especially for Valentine's Day. He already had an idea to do something with a heart with a wood texture. For the animation we first used the logo animation of VOS Vakwerk, which is always the same in their animations. Then the part with the heart for Valentine's Day followed. I already had a basic knowledge of Adobe After Effects, but I learned a few new things today. It was also cool to see the process that Camiel followed to make this animation.

Today I was given the assignment to work on a new garment for Embassy of Brands. They currently have sweaters, but have been wanting a jacket for a while. I started this today by getting inspired. It has to be something you would actually wear and it also has to have patches on it. I researched what types of patches would be suitable. Embassy of Brands does not have a visual logo or icons without letters or words that can be used for this. That is why I looked carefully at what would suit Embassy. In the end I looked at the brand story of Embassy, ​​because this is very important to them. That is why I thought it would be fun to do something with it. The three most important words in the brand story are: passion, inspire and excel. Based on that I came up with ideas. For example, a flame suits passion, and a crown or diamond suits excel.

I worked on a social media post for Netpro for "Clean Out Your Computer Day". First I did some research on what this day entailed, so I knew what kind of post would fit. I found out that it is (as the name suggests) a day where you clean your computer, both digitally and physically. With this information I went looking for inspiration on Pinterest and made a few moodboards. I saw a lot of pictures of people literally cleaning their laptops, checklists and minifigures cleaning a keyboard. Eventually I showed my moodboards to Remco. He thought the minifigures were the best fit, and together we further developed this idea with prompts in MidJourney. I had never worked with this before, so I thought it would be interesting to see how that process went. After a few adjustments and edits the post was ready to go online.

For the Embassy jackets I continued with sketches. I started by looking at the ideas I already had for the patches and went looking for the best place for them on the jacket. With a quick sketch I determined where the patches would look best. Then I experimented with different types of patches and placements to find the best design. I made several rough sketches to look at and try out different possibilities. When I was happy with the sketches, I further elaborated them and thus created a good basis for the final look of the jacket.

For Hager I started creating mood boards. Hager wants to have a campaign developed by the Embassy, ​​and to get a good idea of ​​the possibilities, I started collecting inspiration on Pinterest. I looked for different ways to shape a campaign and selected the most interesting ideas. With enough inspiration in my pocket, I placed everything in Figma and sorted it by type of campaign. This resulted in clear mood boards that serve as a basis for the further process.

For Hager I started collecting and sorting images. I was given the assignment to download all the photos from their website and place them in folders in an organized manner. I made separate folders for different categories, such as photos with people, images of buildings and nature. These photos can be used later in the campaign that we are going to make, so that there are already example images in the design. This way we get a better idea of ​​what the campaign can look like in real life. In addition, there were focus products, which also had to be placed in separate folders. This way everything is clear and easy to find.

Today I finally started creating my own piece on the Embassy website. This is the place where I can collect and present all my work. I started by uploading the assignments I have made during my internship so far. For each project I add photos with a short explanation of the process. While I was doing this, I also got an explanation from Parinaz on how to make gifs in Photoshop. This is useful if you want to show multiple photos with a project. Now the website is finished, until more projects are added. I will do my best to keep it updated every week.

Camiel had asked me and Parinaz to get inspiration for websites, because Around Partners is planning to launch a new website. To help them form an idea of ​​what they like, we had to collect different examples. I searched for websites that I thought were good inspiration. I made screenshots of these websites, which I then put in Figma as a kind of mood board, so that it could be presented clearly.

Today me and Parinaz started searching for inspiration. This had to be for different things like hamburger menus, footers and stuff like that. Not for a company, but just in case someone ever needs inspiration for that.

Lana created a website for Raimond Weenink, and it was almost finished. Before the website was finished, it had to be checked for any errors, such as spelling mistakes, wrong links or layout issues on different devices. I went through the pages of the website, on my laptop and on my phone, to look for errors. I found a few small errors and wrote them down to show Lana later. It was interesting to look at a website this way. I learned what to look for when checking websites.

We were commissioned by Dolmans Landscaping to think about a name for a hall that they will be getting in MFC Bunde for the coming years. For this they have called in the Embassy to come up with a creative and suitable name. In the beginning we actually knew nothing about MFC Bunde, so we first did some research. The first thing that came up on Google was the website of MFC Bunde. This contained a lot of information that we could use. Apparently there is a church in Bunde that they want to convert into a multifunctional center for Bunde and the surrounding area. They plan to renovate the church, including the various halls, such as the large hall. This hall will be assigned to Dolmans Landscaping. We have already come up with a few ideas for names, but we will have to think about this later.

Parinaz and I were given the assignment to work out the Discover phase for a new client, vRE Advocatuur. We each worked in a separate document, so that we could later merge them into one complete file. To start with this, I created a new board in Figma and searched for relevant information about the company. I wanted to understand what kind of company vRE Advocatuur is and what their main goals are. In addition, I looked at the brand identity of the company. This phase helps to get a clear picture of the core values ​​and appearance of the brand, which is an important basis for further development.

Around Partners needed a new font before we could start creating their new website. We looked at the existing logo and tried out different fonts and compositions. I experimented with the weight and style of the font, for example playing with a very round font or a chic, elegant style. This way we could determine which font best suits Around Partners and their brand identity.

Parinaz and I were given the assignment to collect the website and other expressions of the Parte brand, together with the associated Properly brand, in one file in Figma. We started with Parte by collecting the entire website, as well as the websites of the additional Parte locations and all other input that the company had given us. For Properly we did the same: we put the input of the company in Figma. In addition, we collected websites of competitors and examples of inspiring sites. In this way we had everything neatly collected and clearly arranged in one file, so that Remco and Lana can easily search for what they need.

Today I started looking for websites for inspiration for the Embassy and potential clients. For this I used Awwwards.com, a good site to view beautiful and creative websites. I think it is educational to do this, because you come across so many different designs and styles. By viewing these different websites, you learn better what you like and what you don't.

I was given the task by Lana to make an overview of the materials we have delivered to Dolmans in the past months, such as posters, flyers and newsletters. These had to be put in a board on Figma, so that they are nicely lined up and you can easily see which style you have used. This way you can easily re-apply the style without having to open all kinds of different folders and files.

Parinaz and I were allowed to help with the making of the invitation of Addy van den Krommenacker. He is going to have a big anniversary party, because he is turning 75, has been in the business for 55 years and has been a designer for 25 years. Of course, a nice invitation is needed for this. Remco had already started and there was already text for it in the invitation. We made the text neatly and put it in the invitation. There also had to be a kind of collage at the top of the invitation with all the photos of Addy. I had made four different versions for this. In the end, Remco made a few adjustments and then the invitation was finished.

Parinaz and I were given the assignment to start the Discover and Inspiration phase for Properly together. We started with a short research on what Properly is and what they want, a new website. We summarized this in a few sentences. After that we looked at the websites of competitors to see what they have so far. Then we started the Inspiration phase by looking for websites that match the wishes of Properly and collecting them so that we can present them.

After looking at what others in the industry have as a website and going through the Discover and Inspiration phase, we started creating flowcharts for Properly. I looked at their old site to see which parts should also be included on the new website. They want a one-pager, so it was important to put everything on one page without it being too busy. In the end I created four different flowcharts, so there was enough choice. After a few small adjustments and a check by Remco they were ready to be presented to the client.

Camiel asked Parinaz and me to search for stock photos for Around Partners. He is currently designing their website and needed stock photos for that. These had to match the colours chosen for Around Partners, namely two types of blue. I then searched on Shutterstock for photos of water, sky, mountains, bridges, buildings and boats. These images fit well with what Around Partners does. In the end I was able to collect quite a few.

Ultimately, three flowcharts were approved for Properly, after which we could start building them. Parinaz had already built a part of the site that they liked. From there, we looked at the blocks of that site to get inspiration and make them our own. We made five different versions, which Remco eventually mixed into three variants to present to Properly.

To design the website for Properly, icons also had to be found. I started by searching for icons on Shutterstock and collected them in a file in Illustrator. There were a few topics that needed icons, such as document management, communication and projects. It went quite well and eventually I was able to find nice icons for these topics.

Today Parinaz and I started our first Programming Day. We wanted to discover together how we can learn to program and whether we really like doing it. First we looked at which website seemed most suitable to learn with. Then we did a test to see what we already knew, so that we could do it again at the end of the day and measure our progress. Then we started watching a video and took notes. After the video we discussed how we could apply our new knowledge. Finally we did the test again: where we first got 15 out of 40 questions right, we now scored 33 out of 40. Still learned quite a lot in one day!

Frisdrank.com is getting a refresh of the website. For this, a new menu must also be created for the mobile version. The animation for this menu was largely fixed: a circle that goes across the screen. This fits Frisdrank.com, because their house style also contains a dot. For this menu I eventually created several variants that Remco can continue to work with.

We are going to make a presentation for Koopman. First, I watched Remco to see how he had started. Then Parinaz and I were given the assignment to each make three different versions of the photo that appears when you open the link to a video about the project that Koopman wants to realize. This photo shows an image of the project that they are going to carry out, the logo of the company they want to work with and the name of their project. The Koopman logo could also be on it. In the end, Parinaz and I both made six different versions.

Parinaz and I started designing the business card for Raimond Weenink. This had been on our to-do list for a while, so it's good that we started now. There is already a business card with a QR code, but they also wanted a 'normal' business card, for example for people who are less familiar with QR codes. In the end, we made many different designs that Remco and Lana can get inspiration or variations from.

For Van Wylick Isomix I started by collecting inspiration for timelines and folding methods for the instruction booklet. Then I looked at the current house style and thought about which icons would fit each step best. Then I made several designs in Figma, playing with the layout of the timeline, colors and layout of the steps. I also investigated how photos could be incorporated into the design, but because there was little space, Remco and I decided to place them on the back if necessary. Finally, I watched how he worked out my design in InDesign.

Raimond Weenink's website is almost ready to go live. For this, mockups were also made for the cases page on the Embassy website. Parinaz and I worked on this. Remco already had a lot of templates on a hard drive, and we got started with these mockups. In the end, I made mockups of the website (both mobile and desktop) and the mockup for the business cards.

For the site refresh of Frisdrank.com, new compositions were needed for the cans on the product page. I looked at how this currently looks on the website and worked out several variations on it. Remco liked the composition with one can in the foreground and two behind it the best, so I further developed this style for all categories.

The new website of Frisdrank.com also needs visuals. Parinaz and I created these with Midjourney and Runway. Personally, I don't have much to do with AI, but it's good if my knowledge about it is up to date. Since this is a big thing in the world of design. Parinaz and I started by downloading all the compositions of each category. Then we came up with a matching visual and worked it out with Midjourney. Then we photoshopped the right cans into the visual. We put the final visual in Runway to zoom out the photo and finally put the video in Vimeo so it could be put on the Frisdrank.com website.

The book of Addy van den Krommenacker is almost finished, only the photos still had to be placed. For this, Parinaz and I made various compositions. I mainly designed much looser compositions, while Parinaz made tighter compositions. In the end, we showed these to Remco, and a looser composition was chosen for the book. Then Parinaz and I put all the photos in the book.

The deluxe version of Addy's book has QR codes, these had to be linked to the correct videos. I did that. In addition, thumbnails had to be added for each video. At first, we had placed the videos on the page ourselves, but this made the page slow. In the end, I took a screenshot for each video and cleaned it up in Photoshop. Then I put them in Addy's webpage and this page was ready.

The Embassy has been testing V1CE cards for a while now: business cards with a QR code that take you to an online profile where you can put your name, email, phone number and more. Parinaz and I researched the design options that the V1CE program offers. Then we made the cards ourselves.

At Addy's party, the deluxe version of his book that we made will be there. To sell it, there are cards where people can leave their details to buy the book. For this, Parinaz and I made different designs: standing, lying and with different compositions.

For the Frisdrank.com website, we have already created a visual for all categories that slowly zooms out backwards. If you put that video on the website, it always jumps back to the beginning of the video, which doesn't look very nice. Camiel explained to us how you can easily loop such a video in After Effects. This was quite easy, because once you have set it up correctly, you only have to change the video.

We are updating the Embassy case page. Since the last time this happened, many beautiful projects have been added that of course also deserve a place on the website. Camiel told us what they have all made for Netley Capital. I already had a few mockup files on my laptop from last time, so I could immediately make those for the website on desktop and mobile. We also made mockups for the business cards, the logo and the PowerPoint template.

For Raimond Weenink, templates for V-boards are also needed. These are boards that you often see at houses that are for sale. For this, Parinaz and I first did some research into the boards, how big they are and what they usually say. Then we made different designs. I also made a mockup for this.

The Embassy has been working on the website for Nextor for a while now, but part of it is being built in Mach3shop instead of Mach3blocks. We don't know exactly how that works ourselves, so other people build our design in it. Only they don't know exactly what we want, so feedback has to be given. Lana had asked Parinaz and me to give feedback on what has been made so far, compared to our design.

At the start of my internship I had to choose a learning goal for my internship. I chose the goal: to become better at presenting. Presenting is something I have always found difficult. I find it scary to stand in front of a (large) group of people, even though it is already a lot better than when I was in high school. At the start of my internship here I already gave a presentation once, but for my learning goal I agreed with Mirjam to give a short presentation here on Thursday in the last few weeks. So I did that today, it went better than the first time but I think I will always find it a bit exciting.

Mockups also had to be made for Addy van den Krommenacker's case page. Parinaz and I did this together. We started by looking for new mockups, because this time it was mainly about a book and we didn't have many mockups for that. After finding some nice examples on Envato Elements, we downloaded them and put the right photos in them.

For Raimond Weenink, Parinaz and I had made designs for V-boards and posters. Lana and Remco continued designing with these and eventually a design emerged. I made mockups of these so that they could send them to Raimond Weenink for approval. Remco also explained to me and Parinaz how to make a mockup yourself in Photoshop.

In Remco's video, in which Addy is handed the book for the first time, there were still moving parts that had to be cut out. Remco asked if I wanted to do that. I had never done this before. I edited the video in Premiere Pro and checked which parts were easy to cut without cutting off someone's voice. In the end, I exported the video via Media Encoder and replaced the old video with the new one in Vimeo.

For Frisdrank.com Remco created two visuals to post and mail for the summer, and for a new drink from Frisdrank.com: Stëlz. The right cans still had to be placed in the visuals before they could be posted and mailed. I did this in Photoshop. Remco explained to me how to edit a gloss over the cans.

A new project, which is mainly being taken up by Parinaz and Remco because I will be going back to school soon, is Clairity Consultancy. She wants us to make a logo and a website and had already given some input about what she wanted. First, Parinaz did the Discover about her and I made a flowchart of what she had indicated she wanted. Then Parinaz looked for inspiration for logos and we started making logo sketches together. We tried different directions and made many sketches.

For Clairity, mood boards also had to be made about the colours and the photography. Parinaz and I looked at the colours she had already supplied and made different variations and combination mood boards with them. We mainly looked at red, brown and green. We also looked at quieter compositions in the mood boards, because Clair probably finds that more beautiful and clearer.

Previously, Parinaz and I made visuals for Frisdrank.com. each category got one. Now we were also allowed to make visuals for all brands. Of course, there are a lot of them. Maurice had supplied five elements per brand that matched it. In the end, we made separate visuals for each brand. There were a few that were difficult for example, MidJourney never wanted to position beer and water properly. We managed it in the end. They just need to be edited and the right cans need to be put in. But first Maurice has to approve them.

Today Clair came by for the first presentation for Clairity Consultancy. Remco and Lana set up the presentation, but Parinaz and I helped a lot with the inspiration. Clair was very enthusiastic about what we had found for her and got a good idea of ​​what she liked and liked less through the website inspirations. Now we know that she likes a more feminine font in combination with a sleek font, and that she likes white with a slightly off-white color, and so on.

Today is my last day of internship here. I have mainly been busy updating my website for the last time. I have really enjoyed it here and will also do my next internship here. After the summer holidays that will be again and then half a year instead of ten weeks. So, see you then.
